Last Thursday’s Farmer’s Market was so fun. It was great to see people coming back to get our treats. We sold out of our Fruit Filled Rolls very quickly. We even doubled the amount that was made the week before. And the feedback we get is just amazing! We were getting really excited about this week until we looked at the weather. It says that there might be thunderstorms. That doesn’t necessarily work well for an outdoor market, especially when our location is right under a big tree. : )
Last Thursday’s Farmer’s Market went really well. We had a few friendly faces, which was so nice. Thanks for those that came by! We gave samples of our treats out to people as they walked by and we got a lot of really positive responses. We also got a lot of purchases. My mom and I are so excited about how it turned out. We’re switching a few things out. This week we’re doubling up on our Fruit Cinnamon Rolls, because we sold out of those very quickly. Then we’re just cutting down on the variety and will switch it up week to week.
Well, I should say everything went well except for the fact that someone backed out and hit my Mom’s four week old truck! The damage wasn’t bad though. Poor kid was having a really bad day that day and hers was the SECOND car he’d hit. I felt for him!
Tamara and Tyson, our friends that live in Draper made the trek over and surprised us. That was so awesome of them! They took a couple of pictures of us. We’re actually talking with some other friends that came out (thanks Ann!)
We’re leaving in about a half an hour to start setting up for the Farmer’s Market! Yay! It starts at 4pm and ends around 7pm. It’s located off of Main Street in Bountiful. Today we will have Banana Crumb Muffins, Beet Brownies, Citrus Cinnamon Rolls, Lemon Cookies, Pumpkin Cookies, Chocolate Chip Squash Cookies, and Strawberry and Raspberry Fruit Bars. We are so excited! Thanks to you all for your support!
Chocolate Chip Squash Cookies
It’s hard to believe but tomorrow is our first Farmer’s Market in Bountiful. Has June just flown by or what!?! We are so excited to get started. We’ve done all this work building up to this moment and now it’s here. We started baking today with our Beet Brownies and our Raspberry and Strawberry Fruit Bars. Then tomorrow we will at least be doing our 300 cookies again. Yay! But we are prepared and hopefully have our timing down this week. I’ll take some pictures tomorrow of all the good treats we’ll be serving, hopefully enticing you down there. : )
My mom and I wanted to have a practice run with cookies because we’re going make about 300 cookies for the Farmer’s Market and we didn’t know how long that would take. So that’s what we did today! We started about 9:30 this morning and finished with cleaning the kitchen and everything by 1:30. It went really well and we were excited to get into the kitchen and turn our plans into actions. I have to share a picture of my entire island covered in cookies. My kids are in cookie heaven over here. : )
My Mom and I are going to be baking up a Cookie Storm tomorrow. We’d love anyone who’d like to come by my house (1938 W. Comanche Cir) to sample a cookie (or two!) tomorrow! Swing by and decide if squash belongs in chocolate chip cookies. Decide whether or not I make a mean Lemon Cookie. Our first cookies will be going into the oven at 9am. We’ll be baking Chocolate Chip Squash Cookies, Lemon Cookies, Oatmeal Zucchini Chocolate Chip Cookies and Pumpkin Cookies.
We will also be selling the cookies by the dozen for an introductory price of $2. No pressure to buy but if you’d like to take a few home they will be available to you.
Please come by or you might find my mom, dad and me and all of my family a few pounds heavier on Sunday. : )
We officially have a Home Cottage! Yay! The inspection wasn’t as tough as I thought it would be. I thought I was going to have to explain my sanatizing procedures and stuff, but I didn’t. I was way over prepared! But it’s great to have this done. We can legally set up our tables at the Bountiful Farmer’s Market.
17 more days!!!
